AOTP EP 46 | Reproductive Rights with Elizabeth Booker Houston
Reproductive rights have been under attack for quite some time now, but we're seeing mobilization against those rights at a whole new level in the last few years.
Elizabeth Booker Houston is a lawyer with extensive knowledge of how recent Supreme Court decisions will affect those rights going forward. She has a unique educational background, both in law and in Public Health, and to add to that, she's a comedian.
She uses her unique background and perspective as a social media commentator to illuminate issues around the law and public health. In part 1 of our talk, we discuss the recent Supreme Court challenges to reproductive healthcare.

AOTP EP 41 | Don't Let Them Steal Your Vote | with Qasim Rashid
Переглядів 242Місяць тому
Attacks on voting rights are as old as the U.S. itself. Many people are not aware of the long standing history of attacks on this constitutionally protected right. Efforts to restrict voting access have not abated, and it's incumbent upon all of us to understand how these efforts have evolved over the years. All over the U.S., but particularly in the South and in swing states, there are constan...

AOTP EP 39 | Mental Health and the Black Community
Переглядів 2632 місяці тому
I’ve taken some time to look at disparities in health outcomes in the Black community vs. every other racial grouping in the U.S. The numbers are pretty grim. And unfortunately, when we take a look at the mental health profile for Black people as a whole in the U.S., it’s no different. Black people are statistically more likely to suffer from depression, anxiety, PTSD, and they’re more likely t...

Don't forget-Nazis held rallies in New York City in Madison Square Garden in the late 1930s. Also, no German-Americans or Italian-Americans were thrown into internment camps, but Japanese-Americans were, lost their property and homes. Guess how many German-Americans and Italian-Americans got treated like that? 🤔

Why do Socialists hate women? The LEFT has taken away women's rights to safe places, legalized rape, destroyed any chance any woman ever had to compete in sports, and has taken away women's very identity as women. The LEFT dreams of a world where women are irrelevant and can be completely exterminated. Look at Martin Rothblatt's investment in medical research to transplant a uterus into a male so men no longer need women to give birth.

Just a *minor* nitpick. Back in 1978, if a single sold a million copies, it was only certified *gold*. To go platinum, a single required minimum sales of TWO million copies. For full-length LPs and tapes, the sales thresholds were 500,000 for gold and 1 million for platinum. For singles, however, the threshold was double that of LPs so a million for gold and two million for platinum. The RIAA changed the certification levels for singles to match those of LPs around 1988 or so as no single had managed to achieve 2 million in sales since "We Are the World" in 1985 and overall sales of singles had been declining. (After the 12" single became available commercially--until around 1978, they were almost exclusively available to club DJs--the certification levels were set at the same level as full-length LPs. Incidentally, Barbra shared an achievement with Donna Summer on their duet, "No More Tears" when the 7" single sold more than 2 million, going platinum, and the 12" single sold over 1 million, also going platinum. Usually, sales figures were combined for both 7" and 12" singles but "No More Tears" was just that popular that it could go platinum in each single format.)

*Matthew 2:12-15 And Being Warned Of GOD In A Dream That They Should Not Return To Herod, They Departed Into Their Own Country Another Way. And When They Were Departed, Behold, The Angel Of The Lord Appeareth To Joseph In A Dream, Saying, Arise, and Take The Young Child and His Mother, and Flee Into Egypt, and Be Thou There Until I Bring Thee Word: For Herod Will Seek The Young Child To Destroy Him. When He Arose, He Took The Young Child and His Mother By Night, and Departed Into Egypt: And Was There Until The Death Of Herod: That It Might Be Fulfilled Which Was Spoken Of The Lord By The Prophet, Saying Out Of Egypt Have I Called MY SON. Revelation 3:8-10 I Know Thy Works: Behold, I Have Set Before Thee An Open Door, and No Man Can Shut It: For Thou Hast A Little Strength, and Kast Kept My Words, and Hast Not Denied My Prophesied Name. Behold, I Will Make Them Of The Synagogue Of Satan, Which Say They Are Jews, and Are Not, But Do LIE; Behold, I Will Make Them To Come and Worship Before Thy Feet, and To Know That I Have Loved Thee. Because Thou Hast Kept The Word Of My Patience, I Also Will Keep Thee From The Hour Of Temptation, Which Shall Come Upon All The World, To Try Them That Dwell Upon The Earth. Exodus 33:16 For Wherein Shall it Be Known Here That I and Thy People Have Found Grace In Thy Sight? Is It Not In That Thou Goest With Us? So Shall We Be Separated, I and Thy People, From All The People That Are Upon The Face Of The Earth.*

While in Eastern Europe, Jewish people retained their Germanic Yiddish while adopting Slavic loanwords as well as learning and speaking local Slavic languages.

Country music was influenced by European music and field hollers & the blues just like field hollers & the blues was influenced by European music by the proximity of the white southerners that were near them that were white American that were in close proximity to them both of them were in close proximity to each other. I don’t know why you’re making it seem like whites are unoriginal and blacks did everything that’s just misinformation since its cherry picked

Even before wyonie harris’s good rockin rock ‘n’ roll was already a thing as another influence was country music, which was invented by white American musicians and the first musicians who played the electric guitar were white musicians followed by black musicians it was a combination of both that made it

Then blues pentatonic influence hardrock then became heavy metal, where its basically classical with electricity. All those genre just mixing, circling, cycling, connect and overlap each other. In the end theres no black or white music. There is just music art and expression ❤. The problem here is just whitewashing that happened that time.
